Welcome to Sunday in a Sip. It's January 26th, 2025 (National School Choice Week). Today starts week one of the new presidency and a week dedicated to School Choice when families get to swipe left on schools that aren't cutting it and swipe right on ones that actually help their kids crush math homework. It’s like upgrading from gas station coffee to a triple-shot caramel macchiato with more options, more competition, and better results. Now, let’s break down this week’s news highlights, served up fresher than those bagels your toaster just tossed violently across the kitchen.
Stay in bed for a while and relax, sip a sip, and.. Grab your Sunday in a Sip Blanket .. yes wrap yourself in warmth and cuddle while you read … here we go.
President 47 of the United States Inauguration Liberation Day
During the moments of President Trump’s inauguration, Biden had a pardon party, pardoning his entire family. All this took place while President Trump was ushering in the golden age of America. President Trump called it "A revolution of common sense." January 20th, 2025, will be known as “Liberation Day.” Tested and challenged more than any other president, President Trump took the lead again, this time he is going at his presidency in full throttle. He did more in 24 hours than Biden did in his 4 years. On his first day, he took 42 official actions, including signing 26 executive orders, 12 memoranda, and 4 proclamations. Yes, he withdrew from the Paris Climate Agreement, declared a national emergency on the Southern Border, ended birthright citizenship, pardoned about 1,500 January 6th defendants, delayed the TikTok ban, and ordered federal workers back to offices, and gave a number of speeches letting the American people know how the last four years where unfair to all. It seemed that the Democrats agreed for once seeing through the curtain of President “OZ” Biden. The press too seems to enjoy the transparency of President Trumps press conferences.
$500 Billion Stargate Initiative
President Trump announced a $500 billion private sector investment in AI infrastructure on Tuesday. The initiative, named Stargate, is a partnership between OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank. The project aims to build massive data centers across the US, starting in Texas. Initial investment is $100 billion, with plans to expand to $500 billion over four years. Tech leaders Sam Altman, Larry Ellison, and Masayoshi Son joined Trump for the announcement, highlighting the project's potential to boost US competitiveness in AI development.
Deport at a cost.
U.S. military C-17 aircraft began flying detained migrants out of the United States at cost estimate of $25,000 each flight hour. The Pentagon prepared to send even more troops to southern border, including from the Army's elite 82nd Airborne division. Total number of troops now deployed is approximately 8,500.
President Visits North Carolina and L.A.
Finding that FEMA and the Biden administration failed the affected Americans by Hurricane Helene. Trump was in North Carolina to assess the recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene which killed more than 100 people and caused over $80 billion in damages. FEMA as "very bureaucratic" and "very slow" in responding to disasters. Trump proposed the idea of eliminating FEMA or significantly overhauling the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Much of the aid and response has been through humanitarian aid organizations like Samaritan's Purse.

Eggs Twelve Grade A large eggs average cost $4.15
Avian influenza is causing a massive egg shortage that has spiked carton prices again or left grocery shelves barren. In parts of the Midwest, the South, and New York City, eggs are suddenly going for an eye-popping $6.72 on average, for that cheerful nugget. Meanwhile, stores like Aldi, Walmart, and Sam’s Club are doing their best to keep eggs on the shelves but still coming up short. They’ve even slapped limits on how many cartons you can grab, and guess what? Still not enough. It’s like trying to find a decent parking spot at Costco on a Saturday.
CONFIRMED

John Ratcliffe - Director of the CIA
Pete Hegseth - Secretary of Defense
Kristi Noem - Secretary of Homeland Security. Noem, the former governor of South Dakota, will be responsible for implementing Trump's immigration enforcement policies
Pour Over Life
Do you want to turn yourself on in the shower? Here is a great way to relax and stimulate the vagus nerve. Yeah, the vagus nerve. Sounds sexy, right? The vagus nerve is like your body's naughty tease. This sensual neural pathway craves stimulation, responding with a full-body quiver to the right kind of attention. It's the flirtatious rebel of your nervous system, whispering sweet nothings to your organs and making your whole body tingle with excitement. It runs from your brain to your gut, basically whispering, “Hey, baby, let’s relax,” always eager for a tantalizing touch and ready to send shivers down your spine.
And what is the best way to turn it on? Vibrations. Yeah, you heard me. Vibrations. That means when you’re in the shower belting out Like a Virgin while scrubbing your armpits, you’re not just cleaning up—you’re practically giving your nervous system a sensual massage.
Let’s talk vibrations. The vagus nerve loves them. You hit those shower notes, and it’s like your body’s getting an internal massage. Vibrations aren’t just for… you know… special occasions. They’re also for de-stressing, lowering blood pressure, and keeping you from flipping out at the guy who cut you off in the Walmart parking lot.
You can also give yourself gargling vibrations after brushing your teeth or, better yet, gargling in the shower. Yes, try it, even if you sound like an elephant seal on the beach off the coast of northern California. That’s therapy, baby! Sure, your partner might walk by and think you’re auditioning for a horror movie, but what they don’t know is you’re biohacking. You’re out here taking care of your mental health while they’re scrolling TikTok in bed.
So here’s your homework.
When you step into that shower tomorrow morning, don’t just wash your bits and call it a day. Serenade yourself. Vibrate your vagus nerve. Gargle, like you’re gargling for gold. And if anyone gives you crap, remind them this isn’t just hygiene. It’s my health care, baby. Do you know what else stimulates the vagus nerve? Laughter…
