Seeing RED

In this RED-hot February week, the geopolitical stage is ablaze with developments between Russia and Ukraine. U.S. and Russian officials have ignited peace talks in Saudi Arabia, notably without Ukraine's presence, leaving President Zelenskyy seeing red. Meanwhile, European leaders scramble to avoid being left in the red, as they find themselves sidelined in these high-stakes discussions. As the world watches, the hope is for a resolution that doesn't leave Ukraine in the red.

Growing tensions within the Atlantic alliance, particularly concerning U.S. and European disagreements on Ukraine and NATO strategy. The shifting policies and political changes in both the U.S. and Europe are straining transatlantic unity.

In recent negotiations, the U.S. proposed that Ukraine transfer 50% ownership of its precious mineral deposits, including lithium and titanium, to repay military aid. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected the offer, citing insufficient security guarantees and concerns over sovereignty. Ukraine will have to repay the U.S. in some way, it won’t be long if the war does not end for Zelenskyy’s Red Clearance Sale.

ESPN and Major League Baseball plan to end their 35-year-old media rights deal at the end of the current season. MLB and Disney, which owns ESPN, ended their deal for the rest of their partnership. The deal was that ESPN would pay MLB $550 million per year through 2028 for broadcast rights to 30 regular season games. ESPN wanted more glove. You’re out.

You’re Fired

Pour Over Life

Too many people go through life living according to someone else’s script. Whether it’s societal expectations, family pressures, or the influence of peers, we often find ourselves walking a path that wasn’t designed by us. But here’s the truth: settling for a life that doesn’t fulfill you is a guaranteed recipe for regret.

From a young age, we are conditioned to follow a predetermined path. Like most we go to school, get a good job, start a family, and retire. But is that truly what you want? Or is it simply what’s been ingrained in you? The question is: are you making decisions based on your own desires or the expectations placed upon you? It’s time to step back and reflect. Your life is yours alone, and it should be lived according to what makes you happy and fulfilled.

One of the biggest barriers to living the life you want is the tendency to settle. You might stay in a job you hate because it’s “secure.” You might remain in a relationship that doesn’t bring you joy because it’s “comfortable.” You might avoid taking risks because they seem “too uncertain.” But settling is nothing more than a slow compromise of your dreams.

If you find yourself constantly making excuses for why you’re not pursuing your true passions, ask yourself:

  • Am I genuinely happy with my choices?

  • Am I excited about the direction my life is heading?

  • If I had no fear, what would I be doing differently?

The good news is that you have the power to change direction at any time. It starts with clarity. Yes you heard this before, but you need to understand what you truly want. Take time to envision your ideal life. What does it look like? What are you doing? Who are you with? Once you have a vision, take intentional steps toward making it a reality.

  • Identify your passions: What excites and energizes you?

  • Set clear goals: Define what success looks like on your terms.

  • Take action: Start small but start today. Every step counts.

  • Surround yourself with support: Seek out people who uplift and inspire you.

Deciding what you want out of life requires courage. It means tuning out the noise of external expectations and listening to your own inner voice. It means making difficult choices that may not always be understood by others. But at the end of the day, the only person who has to live with your choices is you.

So stop waiting. Stop settling. Stop living someone else’s version of success. Stop wasting your life.

You have one heart that only beats because you're alive. That also means you have one life. Now, make your own.
