Welcome to Sunday in a Sip. It's July 6th, 2025, Enjoying your Forth of July Weekend? Rich, decadent, and oh-so-smooth—just like the finest dark chocolate melting on your tongue. Last week the world served up a cup bold enough to stir the soul and sweet enough to soften the edges. And as we cruise deeper into summer, it’s like we’re riding a chocolate-dipped dream in a convertible with the top down and the breeze just right.
We're not just sipping—we're savoring. Life’s rolling out in rich layers: sun-drenched, slow-drifted, and sprinkled with that melt-in-your-heart magic. The kind that lingers, like cocoa on your lips and memories on your mind.
So let’s pause here—right between the past and what’s next. Pour slow. Breathe deep. Reflect on the flavor of this moment. And roll into the week ahead, one silky, soulful sip at a time.
Tomorrow is World Chocolate Day. Let life be just as sweet.

Escalation in the Russia-Ukraine War
Russia launched its largest aerial assault on Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, firing approximately 550 drones and missiles, with Kyiv as the primary target. This attack resulted in civilian casualties and targeted regions far from the front lines, prompting NATO allies like Poland to scramble jets along the border.
U.S. News
Job growth exceeded forecasts, indicating continued resilience in the labor market despite broader economic uncertainty and slower overall economic growth this year. The latest news on U.S. job growth shows that employers added 147,000 jobs in June 2025, surpassing economists’ expectations, which had forecast around 110,000 new jobs for the month This figure is also slightly above the average monthly gain of 146,000 over the past year. The unemployment rate fell to 4.1%, down from 4.2% in May, and below the predicted 4.3%
Big Beautiful Bill
Hakeem Jeffries delivered a record-breaking floor speech lasting 8 hours and 44 minutes to delay the vote on the Big Beautiful Bill Act. He began at 4:53 a.m. and surpassed the previous House record for longest speech by a party leader.
The House passed the Big Beautiful Bill Act by a narrow 218-214 vote after marathon debate. All Democrats and two Republicans opposed it. The Senate approved it 50-50, with Vice President Vance breaking the tie. The bill then went to President Trump for signing.
President Trump signed the "Big Beautiful Bill Act" on July 4th, at the White House, celebrating its passage as a major legislative victory. The bill permanently extends 2017 tax cuts, eliminates federal income tax on tips and overtime, expands the child tax credit, increases defense and border spending, and reduces Medicaid and SNAP funding. It also rolls back some green energy incentives and blocks state-level AI regulations. The “Big Beautiful Bill Act”, adds a $6,000 tax deduction for those 65+ (for the next three years 2025–2028) and exempts Social Security taxes for retirees earning under $60K (single) or $120K (joint) starting in this year.
Sports
Joey Chestnut made a triumphant return to the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4th, after missing the 2024 event due to a sponsorship dispute. He reclaimed his dominance by eating 70.5 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes, securing his 17th Mustard Belt championship title for the event.
The tragic death of Liverpool and Portugal soccer star Diogo Jota and his brother, André Silva, in a car accident in Spain. The crash happened early Thursday, July 3, near Zamora in northwestern Spain, when their Lamborghini veered off the road. Early reports that it was due to a tire blowout while overtaking another vehicle, and burst into flames, killing both brothers.
Entertainment
The big news this week is the partial verdict in the high-profile federal sex trafficking trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs. The jury found Combs guilty on two prostitution-related charges but was deadlocked on the most serious charge, racketeering conspiracy, prompting the judge to instruct further deliberation. This trial has dominated headlines due to Combs' status as a prominent music mogul and the dramatic unraveling of his business empire as the proceedings unfolded. Combs will remain in federal custody until sentencing, and a virtual hearing to discuss his sentencing is set for next week.

Pour Over Life
Stop defending the fault, it’s time to start fixing the flow.
Before the grind begins, pour yourself something bold.
Today’s blend?
Clarity.
Because real success is lasting, quiet, and grounded, it starts when you stop defending what’s broken and start fixing what needs attention.
It’s easy to armor up when something feels off. A relationship, a workflow, a goal that’s lost its glow. We’re taught to protect the status quo, to polish the cracks instead of asking why they formed. But the truth? High performers don’t waste energy propping up what doesn’t serve them.
They investigate.
Because discomfort isn’t failure. It’s feedback.
When something isn’t working, don’t reach for the nearest excuse.
Reach for the root.
Is your team missing deadlines?
Don’t blame the clock, it’s time to find the bottleneck.
Are your mornings chaotic?
Don’t shame yourself for being “bad at routines”, now it’s time to get honest about what actually supports your flow.
Success doesn’t come from always being right. It comes from being willing to adjust.
To tune your systems, your language, even your beliefs, when they’re no longer aligned with who you’re becoming.
This week, take inventory.
Where are you still defending something you’ve outgrown?
Where are you ignoring the little discomfort that’s quietly asking for your attention?
That ache in the gut?
That friction in your day?
It’s not a problem to fear, look at it as a guide.
Fix what’s fixable. Release what isn’t. Elevate everything else.
You’re not here to maintain. You’re here to master.
Now go pour that wisdom into your Monday, with strength and steam, rise above.
